Belmont Releases June TA Bulletin; Schools Confirm 15-Minute Longer Day Next Fall

BELMONT — The Town of Belmont released its June 2026 Town Administrator's Bulletin on Monday, giving residents the latest digest of municipal activity, while Belmont Public Schools continues to roll out details of a 15-minute school-day extension set to begin in the fall.

TOWN HALL

The June 2026 Town Administrator's Bulletin, posted to the town's document portal Monday, is the month's official roundup of news from the town manager's office. Residents can read the full edition at https://www.belmont-ma.gov/DocumentCenter/View/14635/June-2026-TA-Bulletin.

The town is also moving through an update of its Hazard Mitigation Plan. A draft was made available earlier this month, and a second public input session is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23 — residents who want to weigh in on how Belmont prepares for natural and human-caused hazards should mark the calendar.

SCHOOLS

Belmont Public Schools announced June 3 that the student day will be extended by 15 minutes at every school in the district beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. A revised daily schedule was released alongside the announcement. The change flows directly from the Belmont School Committee's ratification of a new contract with the Belmont Education Association (BEA), approved June 1 after more than 19 months of negotiations, mediation, and compromise. Families new to the district should note that registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open.
